Allergies may be causing you to gain weight or preventing you from losing weight.  Here's how. When food enters your stomach that you are allergic to your stomach and intestines start producing a layer of mucus to prevent the allergen from entering the blood stream. This prevents absorption of nutrition not just from the allergic food but all other foods that entered with it.
